Vertical Fire Curtains

A Smoke Curtain is an Automatic Barrier / Curtain System that controls the movement of smoke in a building during a fire. It comprises fire resistant fabric fixed to a steel roller which is driven by an internal tubular electric motor. The roller is mounted and enclosed in a steel housing and the bottom edge of the curtain has a weighted bar. It is activated from a fire detection system and closes above head height (sometimes to the finished floor level) to create a smoke-free layer FireMaster offers 2 and 4 hour integrity fire curtain as a revolution in active fire separation. It is tested for fire resistance from either or both directions and it allows escape for occupants and entry for emergency services through and under the curtains. Delayed & split drop deployment controls offer safe escape as well as controls 'gravity failsafe' or auto retract smoke alarm system

These fire curtains provide an insulated zone of 30 minutes and also 30 minutes integrity, as per the requirements of PAS 121. Our standard 30 minute insulated curtains has now been upgraded to 57 minutes, at no extra cost to our clients. We are now working towards the 3hr insulated zone fire curtain. Designed for high specification situations such as Museums and Art Galleries, where priceless goods are in need of ultimate protection. During our fire tests the temperature on the safe side of the fire curtain rose only by 45 degrees Celsius, at a point 100mm away from the curtain. And this was after 30 minutes and at 1000 degrees Celsius on the fire side.
